Start with the source devices

Bose adds compatible USB-C audio and Bluetooth 5.4, while Sony publishes LDAC support alongside SBC and AAC. LDAC does not apply to every source—Apple devices, for example, do not provide it—so codec labels should be matched to the actual phone or computer.

Both products support multipoint. Buyers should still confirm how their work apps, calls, and operating systems handle source switching because a shared feature label does not make every workflow identical.

Battery claims need matching modes

Both list up to 30 hours in a primary noise-controlled mode. Bose's figure falls to 23 hours with Immersive Audio enabled, while Sony separately lists a longer maximum with noise canceling off.

Compare the mode you expect to use, not the largest number from different test conditions. Volume, calls, codecs, temperature, and battery age can change real runtime.

How to choose

Choose Bose when its USB audio path, folding design, and Immersive Audio controls match the routine. Choose Sony when LDAC from a compatible source and Sony's control approach matter more.

Neither specification sheet establishes comfort or sound preference. If possible, confirm fit and return terms through an authorized seller before committing.
